Designing signage for a transitioning neighborhood
This project plays into the Strip’s identity as a neighborhood of wholesalers and family-owned shops. Although the main function of the neighborhood has become more of a tourist attraction than a place for locals to buy produce, the Strip’s history is well known to both visitors and natives. I drew inspiration from hand-painted signage, market districts, and roadside produce stalls. The fonts used in this system are various kinds of script-inspired and blocky san-serifs that reference these types of DIY signs.
